After graduating from Indiana University in 2023 with degrees in International Law and Russian, Sydney continued building her career as an Assistant Publisher at Bloom Magazine, where she highlights the people, organizations, and local businesses that make Bloomington unique.

Zulich was elected to represent District 6 on the City Council in 2023. During her term, she learned the true meaning of representation, developing relationships with people who had never had someone from city government reach out to them and bringing them into the fold. She began to dream of a Bloomington in which everyone knows their leaders because those leaders are truly in community with them: a city led from within rather than from above.

Today, Zulich serves as the Vice President of the Bloomington City Council, elected by her colleagues due to her commitment to honesty, integrity, and thoughtful leadership. Every day, Sydney Zulich works to bring people together, tackle our city’s toughest challenges, and serve Bloomington with integrity.
